The Perfect Backyard Cabana
Outside of your house, there's a perfect spot to place a backyard cabana. Your whole family would love lounging underneath its canopy on hot summer days. If you'd like to have one, we've got several tips to help design your cabana.
Lay a concrete foundation as the base
The first part of any cabana project will always be the base. You'll have to lay a solid foundation before you're able to start building a cabana. We'd suggest using decorative concrete while you're laying the foundation.
It'll look great, but it won't need too much maintenance. You could work with Concrete Craft to take care of this. They've done a ton of concrete slabs, so you can see how it'd look. Just take a look at their site and go through their project gallery.
Work with a professional designer
You'll need someone to help design the cabana once you've laid its foundation. Most of the time, working with an outdoor contractor would be the best way to go.
Allied Outdoor Solutions is one of our favorite companies when it comes to this. They've built a ton of different projects.
Ask them for advice on your project to see what they think would look best at your place. They'll let you know what's going to match your existing property. Plus, you can even pick out which materials you'd like to use on the cabana.
Install plenty of seating
The cabana should have enough space for the whole family to sit once it's built. Let your builder know how many seats you'd like to put underneath the canopy.
Don't put them too close together, though. That's going to make it feel cramped if you're in there with too many people.
You may need to expand your initial plans if there's not enough space to seat everyone. A slightly larger canopy might add a few spots where you can place a seat.
Protect yourself from the sun
Sitting under the cabana shouldn't put you in the sun. That's why it's best to use thick canopies when building them. If you've installed one that's thick enough, you'll have tons of shade.
We've seen a ton of canopies, built with beautiful materials. You'll want to choose a material that's going to match the rest of your home.
Building a cabana with a nice canopy has a way of making a place look phenomenal, and it could increase your property value. You'll have to check out several materials to find the one that's going to look the best.
